Floyd Mayweather vs “Canelo” Alvarez Next fight on September 14

 Even before defeating Robert Guerrero May 4, Floyd "Money" Mayweather hinted he would fight again in September. Now Crave's MaxBoxing website reports a signed contract between Mayweather and unified junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez for a bout September 14 in Las Vegas.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told MaxBoxing:

“Well, it wasn’t easy but it was done. Big fights are never easy and this is the biggest fight in the sport you can make. It doesn’t get bigger than that. You have a fighter who is one of the most popular in Mexico and in the United States with a huge Hispanic fan-base against the pound-for-pound star. It’s as big as it gets. There’s no bigger one. This is the one.”

This news comes just weeks after Crave Online confirmed Mayweather is the highest paid American athlete for the second straight year. Guess this is called running up the score.
