First look: Jessy Mendiola as Thalia in 'Maria Mercedes' (ABS-CBN)
During the press conference for her upcoming television series, Jessy admitted her secret love affair with actor JM de Guzman that lasted two years without being publicly noticed.
Besides the reason that her mom was not in favor of the relationship, Jessy confessed that she was the one who decided to call it quits to focus more on her career. However, the Kapamilya star stressed that she loved her ex-boyfriend despite the odds.
Jessy, who is set to reprise the role of Thalia in the local version of the Mexican telenovela “Maria Mercedes,” also talked about Matteo Guidicelli.
Her “unlabeled relationship” with the hunk and sporty actor also did not prosper after their afternoon TV series “Paraiso” on ABS-CBN ended. The actress said they remain friends and still talk in spite of their busy work schedule.
When asked on how she thinks about love and career, Jessy said “I think love can wait. I can put my lovelife on hold but ‘yong career kapag nawala ay mahirap bumalik. Iyong love, iiyak mo lang iyan.”
