Gilas Pilipinas will battle Kazakhstan in a do-or-die quarterfinal match. Broadcast over TV5 begins at 8:15 p.m.
The Philippines is aiming to finish in the top three to qualify for the world competitions set in Spain next year.
Top-seeded Gilas, which finished first in its group, will be facing a Kazakhstan side that has lost its last three matches in the last round.
But the Kazakhs remain dangerous with a top-flight point guard in Jerry Johnson and a bevy of physical big men led by Anton Ponomarev.
The two nations played a tuneup match last July 26, with the Philippines winning, 92-89. But Gilas coach Chot Reyes said the team is not putting too much stock into the result, saying Kazakhstan remains a dangerous opponent.
The Philippines-Kazakhstan battle highlights a full slate of knockout quarterfinal matches during the day.
Iran will battle Jordan at 3 p.m. in a rematch of their 2011 quarterfinal duel. Chinese Taipei takes on defending champion at 5:45 p.m. while South Korea will face Qatar in the last match of the day at 10:30 p.m.
