"Ang ganda nitong babaeng 'to!" says Vice Ganda, who was also shown a copy of FHM's June 2013 issue (Karen's in there!). Besides Jennylyn, Karen's beauty was also likened to Jean Garcia, Rufa Mae Quinto, Regine Tolentino, Jessa Zaragoza, and Elizabeth Taylor. "Puwede ka talagang artista, hindi lang Kalokalike girl," adds Anne Curtis, calling her the prettiest contestant in Kalokalike history. After a brief performance of the Jennylyn classic "Kahit Sandali," Karen was eventually chosen by the judges as the Kalokalike winner of the day. Yay!
While she does look quite a bit like Jennylyn, Karen says people compare her a lot more to Carla Abellana, another Kapuso actress. "People say I look a lot like her," she explains. "I like her because she's simple and approachable, unlike other celebrities."
Say, if this Kalokalike thing actually opens a myriad of possibilities, what is Karen keen on pursuing? "I like to sing. And I want to star in a comedy or action movie. Astig yun, yung tipong naka-black tapos may dalawang baril na naka-strap sa legs!" In that case, do us proud and go win this thing all the way. And don't you forget about us when you hit the big time!
