“She’s like my everything,” the 21-year-old singer said of Alyssa, a member of the all-female vocal group AKA Jam, a finalist on “X Factor Philippines” last year where Charice served as a judge.
Their closeness did not start on the show, however, because they were childhood friends who knew each other from competing in the amateur singing contest circuit.
Charice blushed and simpered when she recounted that the last tattoo she had — an inscription on her chest that she acquired in March — was dedicated to Alyssa.
The tattoo reads: “LET’S START WITH FOREVER”. It’s a line borrowed from the blockbuster vampire movie “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ — the climax of the wedding toast by Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) to his bride Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).
The full sentence from the movie quote is “No measure of time with you will be long enough, but let’s start with forever.”
Charice said she considers Alyssa not just a girlfriend but also a sister and her best friend.
“Siya na kapatid ko nagbibigay ng advice sa ‘kin… Best friend ko… Iba talaga ang tagal namin magkakilala,” she said.
Alyssa, on the other hand, said she and Charice are simply compatible in so many things.
“Marami e… Lahat ng bagay magkasundo kami,” she said.
Charice expressed joy and relief after her confession met with an outpouring of support from colleagues and fans.
After being out of the public eye for several months, the singer once hailed by Oprah Winfrey as “the most talented girl in the world” is eager to resume her career.
She has started working her third studio album in the Philippines, which will contain mostly covers of songs that, she said, define this tumultuous period in her young life.
“Gusto ko i-record ang mga favorite songs ko na gagawan ko sariling version. Since na-discover ako doing covers, I wanna do that,” she said.
Charice belied suggestions that her career is finished. She said she is set to leave for the US very soon for a Hollywood project, details of which she could not reveal just yet. She also has offers for projects in Japan, Australia and Russia.
“Hayaan mo na sabihin nila at makita nila. Di ko naman kailangan gumising araw-araw at sabihin sa kanilang may ganito ako, may ganyan ako,” she said of her dectractors.
Another sign that she is ready to resume her career came with her return to social media by way of a new Twitter account, @officialccrp. She said her previous account had been hacked.
It was through this new account that Hollywood blogger Perez Hilton praised her decision to come out:
