My Super Kap of Bong Revilla, Toni Gonzaga and Ai Ai Delas Alas Out of MMFF 2013

Senator Bong Revilla backed out in the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival, MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino confirmed on Wednesday.

Senator Bong's 2013 MMFF entry, My Super Kap is supposed to feature him with Toni Gonzaga, Ai Ai Delas Alas and Ogie Alcasid. The movie is set to go head-to-head with movies topbilled by big stars and MMFF box office royalties like Vic Sotto, Kris Aquino, Vice Ganda. CLICK HERE to see the official entries to the 2013 MMFF.

According to a report by Mario Dumaual on TV Patrol, Senator Bong pulled out out from the list of entries for this year's festival because special effects will be meticulously handled and will need more time, so the production team is unable to meet the deadline set by the organizers.

The conflicting schedules of two of his cast members Toni Gonzaga and Ai-Ai delas Alas was also cited as the cause of the delay of the project. Toni is now shooting for her first ever team up with Piolo Pascual and is also busy with other hosting stints while Ai Ai also has other projects in line, including her movie with Marian Rivera.

There are rumors that there's also a supposed feud about the billing of their names in the poster, the reason the senator decided to cancel the project for next year.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said that the MMFF 2013 organizing committee is confident that they can find a good replacement for the movie that will also bring happiness to moviegoers come Christmas season.

Snow in the Philippines, is this real or fake?

MANILA (UPDATED) - Don't fall for a fake YouTube video clip supposedly showing snow falling in Mindanao, a weather expert said Thursday.

The "Philippine snow" video clip making rounds online is fake, according to NHK World weather anchor Robert Speta.

Speta said the supposed snow is ashfall taken in 2009 around Christmas during an eruption of Mayon volcano in Albay.

"Ash can sometimes look like snow when it falls," he said in a blog post.

"The Christmas decorations would put it at the right time. Regardless it is not snow and it was not on July 24th," he added, describing the video footage.

He said "Rodsburgh News Live," which uploaded the clip, is a "phantom news agency."

"It's a bogus news station. I was unable to source it back to anything else outside of its YouTube channel where 2 videos are uploaded," he said.

Speta also explained that it would be impossible for snow to fall in Mindanao is in the tropics near the equator.

"There was no reports of snow in the Philippines by any weather stations or temperatures getting below 20C for that matter," he added.

"Just shows how good amateur news graphics are becoming, and to double check every story you hear about," he said.

State weather bureau PAGASA has not reported any recent snowfall in the country.

The Voice of the Philippines Imago Vocalist Aia de Leon Fails in Auditions

Former lead vocalist of popular band Imago, Aia de Leon failed to turn at least a single chair during her The Voice of the Philippines Blind Auditions aired Sunday night, July 21.

Aia de Leon sang Michael Jackson's The Way You Make Me Feel and it was her song choice which probably hurt her. Aia's former band, Imago, is well-known for their hits like Sundo, Akap and Taralets and their versions of APO's Ewan  and Eraserheads' Spolarium.

Coaches Lea Salonga and Bamboo were heartbroken after knowing that it was Aia who auditioned. Just like the ex-vocalist of Imago, former PDA scholar Chivas Malunda and ex-Ang TV star-turned-Kapuso singer Nicole Angela Judalena also failed to advance to the next rounds.

Artists who made the cut on Sunday's episode were former Popstar Kids finalist Jessica Reynoso (Team Apl), Denise Sagun and Carlson Dan Billano (Team Bamboo) and Kim Mainit (Team Lea).

Team Bamboo and Team Lea have already 13 members each, made possible by a twist revealed on Sunday night while Team Apl has 12. Team Sarah is still looking for one final artist to complete the 12 members. Next Saturday (July 27), expect 3 artists to advance to the Battles (2 for Team Sarah and 1 for Team Apl).

Be Careful With My Heart Anniversary

Be Careful With My Heart stars Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap continue to feel blessed because of the unexpected success of their kilig-serye that recently celebrated its first anniversary on television. "Be Careful With My Heart" premiered on ABS-CBN's Primetanghali block on July 9 last year.

"We're really overwhelmed with this achievement because these days only a few shows last this long and we're happy that ours is one of those lucky few," said Jodi.

2013 FHM Sexiest Victory Party | PHOTOS Marian Rivera leads FHM 'sexiest' party

Actress Marian Rivera had her “golden moment” in this year’s much-awaited FHM Sexiest Victory Party held at the World Trade Center on Thursday.

Rivera, who was dubbed by readers of FHM Philippines as the sexiest woman in the country for 2013, walked down the runway wearing a pair of huge golden wings, which matched her shiny gold ensemble.

Save for Empress Schuck and Jackie Rice who ranked 10th and ninth, respectively, the rest of FHM’s Top 10 sexiest women did not take part in the event.

Former No. 1 sexiest woman Sam Pinto landed in second place this year, followed by actresses Jennylyn Mercado, Cristine Reyes, Solenn Heussaff, Ellen Adarna and Anne Curtis.

Joining Rivera on the catwalk in this year’s FHM event were a handful of local celebrities, including Aubrey Miles, Bangs Garcia, Ryza Cenon, Glaiza de Castro, Empress Schuck, Regine Angeles, sisters Ehra and Michelle Madrigal, Daiana Menezes, LJ Reyes and Rufa Mae Quinto.

A number of models also stole the limelight for performing stunts -- from pouring water on each other to throwing pieces of clothing.
